As an actuarial consultant I assist clients with solving financial, risk-related or strategic challenges to meet their specific goals.
I combine the skills of a statistician, economist, and probabilities forecaster into one process committed to providing sound recommendations.
My job is to evaluate “what if” scenarios by monitoring and assessing current trends and likely future changes.

My experience as an actuarial consultant
My work as an actuarial consultant has been wide-ranging and includes:
– financial modelling
– pricing and product design
– designing risk and control frameworks
– strategy development and execution
– due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
I have a clear understanding of how assets and liabilities interact with each other, and provide sound advice in the management of capital. The earlier part of my career was largely spent in the UK and I have working knowledge of doing business on the African continent.
My Background
I am currently serving as the Immediate Past President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, in the UK.
Additionally, I serve as a non-executive director on a number of boards in the insurance and not for profit sector in South Africa and the UK.
